The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies (LKI) recently welcomed a delegation from the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) for discussions on global and regional developments.
Discussions focused on foreign policy issues including, the global economic development and the Middle East crisis, the Belt and Road Initiative, the economic slowdown in China, and Sri Lanka’s economic and political outlook.
The 5 member delegation from CICIR was headed by Prof. Zhang Li, Assistant President of CICIR and also included; Dr Zhang Xuegang, Deputy Director of Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, CICIR; Ms Wang Haixia, Assistant Research Professor at the Institute of South Asian Studies, CICIR; Ms Deng Menjia, Assistant Research Professor at the Institute of Arms Control and Security Studies, CICIR and Mr Liu Jinwei, Assistant Research Professor at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, CICIR.
Dr. Ganeshan Wignaraja, Executive Director of LKI and research staff participated in the meeting.
